This is our most aggressive planer, used where significant material needs to be removed. The 180 mm diameter drum, combined with 60 mm cutters and powerful motors, produces high ‘cutting’ forces. Experience has shown that a 250 mm drum width is the optimum for productivity and operator comfort; anything wider will cause accelerated operator fatigue. Power Drive and Diamond Planing options further extend the scope of this planing system.

The CT 250 long life drum assembly is massively strong, with 6 x 16 mm flail shafts and a full width hexagonal drive bar. 60 mm dia TCT, Beam Flail and Milling Cutters can be fitted. Cutter density can be varied using spacing washers.

CT250 Power Drive & Diamond Planer

CT250 Power Drive is available with a three phase (7.5 kw) electric motor or petrol-engined. The integral drive motor is powered from the main electric supply or an alternator fitted to petrol-engined models, the latter providing total independence from a fixed supply point.

The bi-directional variable speed drive vastly improves productivity and control, thereby contributing to reduced operator fatigue. Used with TCT or Milling Cutters on a regular planing drum, consistent results can be produced over extended periods. Operating in the reverse direction, the CT250 will remove the toughest of coatings in a highly controlled manner, with vastly reduced operator effort.

The Diamond Planing and regular ‘flail’ drum are totally interchangeable on the CT250. The Planing Drum can be configured with up to five 40 mm wide planing rings, each populated with 18 diamond segments. Coupled with the precise control features of the Power Drive system, this configuration will create a consistently smooth surface, with greatly reduced levels of vibration, noise and dust.
