Used to create smooth, flat, ‘swirl free’ finishes for the application of thin coatings and sealers. Material removal typically less than 1 mm in a single pass. Contact ‘patch’ varies from 230 to 800 mm. Predominantly using diamond abrasives whose characteristics are governed by ‘grit’ size and ‘bond’ material. Progressive operations can lead from ‘rough’ grinding to smooth ‘glass-like’ finishes on natural stone or Terrazzo. Dry dust free operation assumed in all instances.
